Self-Harm Awareness Training
Updated: Nov 9
Covid is having a huge impact on all our lives with the seemingly constantly changing restrictions meaning we are not able to see friends and loved ones as often as we might like. We are spending more time at home, unable to go out and do what we want which might leave us feeling isolated, upset, and uncertain about our futures.
Some of us might have concerns about friends or loved ones who are experiencing mental health issues and may even be thinking of harming themselves. The current situation can make things even harder, as we might not able to be there in person for those who need us right now. However, even in these difficult circumstances, there are still things we can do to help our loved ones find support. Now, more than ever, it is important that we look out for one another.
Here at The Mind's Well, we offer a range of training and professional development programmes. This month, we're offering a new course on self-harm awareness, a BPS approved training programme on managing self-harming behaviours. This is a course aimed at those who may know someone who self-harms or are interested in learning more about why people self-harm. This course may also be useful to mental health professionals interested in furthering their understanding of self-harm and suicide prevention.
Here at The Mind's Well we aim to equip you with the skills and understanding you need to help support someone who is self-harming. This course aims to raise awareness around self-injury at home, helping you to understand the reasons behind self-injury, to learn about effective ways to care for yourself and your loved one, and to learn strategies to support your loved one as they work towards reducing their self-harm.
Tickets for this course are £45 and are available to buy from our website, follow the link to book your place today: https://bit.ly/2IktOrl
